Mimolette and deep black charcoal hearts

The grand finale for the Valentine dinner. Or alternatively nibbles (sic) for before dinner….

I admit to being wholly seduced by the packaging of these ‘deep black charcoal’ cheese biscuits… to buy a box of these dark hearts is, as the makers shamelessly but accurately describe it, to buy  ‘a box of remarkable wondrous munchy things’. I don’t know who designed the packaging but whoever they are they have a lot of style and a great sense of humour. Nor are they a blushing violet when it comes to blowing Thomas J Fudge’s trumpet. Team these up with the startling orange and nutty taste of Mimolette and you have a fitting end to the meal.
