The Saucy Cocktail

If Sir Francis Drake can make up cocktails, so can Saucy Dressings! But I think cocktails made out of alcohol already in the cupboard (often with a double use for cooking as well as drinking) make a lot of sense. I use a lot of pink martini in my cooking so a couple of bottles or so of that are always there…this is what happened when I started (aided by two very helpful friends) my contest against Sir F.

for two with a bit of a top up for each (never wasted)

you need to keep enough in stock
you need to keep enough in stock
  • ¼ cup gin
  • ¼ cup rosato vermouth (pink martini)
  • ¼ cup pomegranate juice
  • ⅛ cup lime juice NB lime juice is better than lemon
  • ice – two cubes per person – no crushed ice NB the ice is important, but you don’t want too much
  • two sprigs of mint

mix all, garnish with the mint

Once made, sit back and listen to some Pink Martini music.
