If Sir Francis Drake can make up cocktails, so can Saucy Dressings! But I think cocktails made out of alcohol already in the cupboard (often with a double use for cooking as well as drinking) make a lot of sense. I use a lot of pink martini in my cooking so a couple of bottles or so of that are always there…this is what happened when I started (aided by two very helpful friends) my contest against Sir F.
for two with a bit of a top up for each (never wasted)
you need to keep enough in stock
¼ cup gin
¼ cup rosato vermouth (pink martini)
¼ cup pomegranate juice
⅛ cup lime juice NB lime juice is better than lemon
ice – two cubes per person – no crushed ice NB the ice is important, but you don’t want too much
